The Mini App runs inside the TikTok application. Nebula and TikTok are independent controllers of the personal information each of us processes:
When you open the Mini App, TikTok provides us with a limited set of information (described in Section 2). We do not receive your TikTok password, and we do not receive your TikTok account name, phone number or email address unless you choose to provide it to us directly.
We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, contacts, photo library contents, microphone or camera input, biometric identifiers, government identification numbers, health information, or information about your sexual orientation, religion, race or ethnicity.
| Purpose | What this involves |
|---|---|
| Providing the Services | Streaming episodes, saving and restoring playback progress, maintaining your watchlist, delivering the correct language version. |
| Content recommendations | Suggesting titles based on what you have watched within the Mini App. |
| Transactions | Recording unlocked or purchased content so it remains available to you, and handling refunds and disputes. |
| Service quality | Measuring playback performance, diagnosing crashes, fixing defects and improving the product. |
| Aggregate analytics | Understanding overall viewing trends and audience size in aggregated or de-identified form. |
| Safety and integrity | Detecting fraud, abuse, automated scraping and violations of our Terms of Use. |
| Legal compliance | Meeting record-keeping, tax, content-licensing and law-enforcement obligations. |
| Communications | Responding to your support requests and sending service notices. |
We do not use your personal information to train generative artificial intelligence models. Our productions are created from our own and licensed source material, not from user data.
Records of the specific dramas and episodes you watch receive particular protection under U.S. law, including the Video Privacy Protection Act (18 U.S.C. § 2710). We use your viewing records to operate the Services as described above.
We do not disclose your video viewing records to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We disclose them only: (a) to service providers acting on our behalf and bound to use them solely for that purpose; (b) with your separate, informed and revocable consent given at the time of disclosure; (c) to law enforcement pursuant to a valid warrant, subpoena or court order; or (d) as otherwise permitted by that statute. Any consent you give may be withdrawn at any time using the contact details in Section 16.
We disclose personal information only in the following circumstances:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA") and comparable state laws. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of. We nonetheless honour opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), where they are transmitted to us.
We use analytics tooling to understand aggregate usage and to improve playback quality. Where a third-party analytics provider is used, it acts as our service provider and is contractually prohibited from using the information for its own purposes.
The Mini App does not serve third-party behavioural advertising and does not embed third-party advertising trackers. Any promotion of our own titles inside the Mini App is based only on activity within the Mini App itself, and is not built from data obtained about your activity on other companies' apps or websites.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honour these rights for all U.S. users, regardless of state:
These rights arise under laws including the CCPA/CPRA (California), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and comparable laws in other states as they take effect.
